How Lviv IT Cluster Companies Help in the Fight Against COVID-19 Pandemic

Thanks to the support of Lviv IT Cluster companies, within the frames of the United for Health project UAH 6 million was raised to fight coronavirus in Lviv and Lviv region. However, other initiatives of Lviv IT companies also did not go unnoticed. We prepared a review of Lviv IT Cluster member companies’ main achievements to combat the spread of the pandemic in our city and region.

Intellias

Intellias supported the mass testing initiative and allocated UAH 1.5 million to the purchase of 10,000 express tests. The first batch of 5,000 tests was directed to Lviv IT Cluster as part of the mass testing campaign in Lviv and the region.

N-iX

N-iX launched a charity fund, which is supported by the company and employees. UAH 1.546 million has been raised so far, with a part allocated for 8,000 express tests for the United for Health project.

The company also contributed to the development of tech solutions for Lviv Regional State Administration and Lviv City Council. Among them, there is an interactive map of COVID-19 spread in Lviv and Lviv region.

SoftServe
In early March, SoftServe donated UAH 10 million to support medical institutions in their effort to combat COVID-19. The donation will be directed to the corporate charity fund “Open Eyes” to address urgent medical needs in the Ukrainian cities where SoftServe has offices.

The company, in cooperation with the Lviv Regional Council,
launched an online platform, ‘STOP COVID-19’. The platform contains a list of medical contacts and facilities in the region, including local family doctors, and an up-to-date map highlighting the locations of current cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine. 
EPAM 
The Ukrainian office of EPAM Systems donated UAH 5.5 million to UNICEF to support the battle against COVID-19. The funds were directed to health care programs protecting the population of Ukraine in emergencies. In particular, intensive care and diagnostic facilities will be provided with the equipment for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. 

Besides,
as part of the EPAM’s #TogetherAsOne initiative, employees donate for the needs of hospitals in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Dnipro. UAH 530,849.46 UAH has been raised so far.

EPAM released
the GENTL Mask, an open-source solution for manufacturers to address the supply shortage of protective masks that medical professionals need amid the coronavirus outbreak. 

ELEKS
The company joined the Lviv IT Cluster’s United for Health initiative, purchasing 2,000 express tests, and financially supported the insurance programme of medical staff in Lviv.

ELEKS also
financed 2,000 protective suits for health care specialists from Lviv and allocated UAH 509,000 to the purchase of PCR reagents for coronavirus diagnostics in Lviv hospitals.

GlobalLogic
GlobalLogic allocated UAH 1 million for medical protective equipment for hospitals in Kyiv, Lviv, and Kharkiv. The company donated UAH 170,000 to the Lviv IT Cluster’s United for Health initiative.

DevCom
DevCom stepped in the fight against coronavirus and directly expressed their gratitude to the medical staff, delivering respirators to the Communal Municipal Clinical Hospital No.8.

Forbytes
Forbytes joined Lviv IT Cluster’s United in Health program to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in Lviv and Lviv region. The company also offers its expertise in Data Science, .Net and Python, at zero business profit to all companies trying to stop the pandemic.
 
Agiliway 
Agiliway announced they raised funds to support hospitals, purchasing basic medicines and express tests for SARS-COV-2. The company’s employees also volunteered to make the donation and decided to allocate some percentage of their salaries to the initiative. 
 
Infopulse

The company launched a charity project, the Health Care Truck, joining forces to help primary care physicians and provide them with protective equipment. The project is implemented jointly with a group of volunteers from the company and the Children of Hope and Love Charitable Foundation. As of April 22, UAH 600,417 was raised.

Chatbots.Studio
Chatbots.Studio created a Viber chatbot for medical staff to track the results of mass testing. The chatbot is currently being tested and will become available to doctors who are testing potentially infected individuals shortly.

 

Bots Crew
Bots Crew is developing a chatbot to monitor Lviv residents’ health conditions. The data will be provided by users. Based on the results of a brief survey, a database will be formed, where it will be possible to get information about COVID-19 symptoms. 

V.I.Tech
V.I.Tech Lab, a research and development department of V.I.Tech, offers a machine-learning software product for automatic detection of personal protective equipment, the development of AI platforms for computer diagnostics of COVID-19 and pneumonia, and a COVID-19 epidemic scenario calculator.
