Today, on May 11, Lviv IT Cluster begins the vaccination process of the IT industry employees from the association’s member companies. The Cluster plans to vaccinate a few thousand tech professionals with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Thanks to close cooperation with the city authorities and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Lviv IT Cluster launches a joint initiative to vaccinate the Lviv IT industry representatives with the AstraZeneca vaccine. The vaccination process will start on May 11 and will last until May 28 (the first dose of the vaccine).
“Vaccination is the only effective mechanism today that can stop the spread of coronavirus and help us revive the economy and go back to normal life. Ukraine needs to increase the vaccination rates. In addition to the work of health care professionals, it is especially important to find understanding and the desire to get vaccinated among the city’s residents. In this respect, Lviv IT Cluster sets an example to other communities of our city,” comments Andriy Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor of Lviv.
Vaccination will take place in a specially equipped vaccination center at the Arena Lviv Stadium, and will be accessible only to representatives of the IT industry via prior registration. Lviv IT Cluster believes that the start of mass vaccination of the city’s IT community will have a positive impact on the dynamics of vaccination in Lviv.
“Last year we were the first in Lviv to start mass testing and purchase COVID-19 express tests. Now, we are one of the first to vaccinate members of our community. We thank the authorities for fruitful cooperation and enabling us to once again show the progress of the tech community and its readiness for a large-scale vaccination. I believe that this example will motivate other residents of our city to get vaccinated against COVID-19,” comments Stepan Veselovskyi, СЕО at Lviv IT Cluster.
As of May 11, 61,671 people in the Lviv region got the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
