Lviv IT Cluster Provided 125 Routers for Schools in Lviv

On December 14, the Lviv IT Cluster transferred 125 routers and internet access points as part of the Shelter Link project. This is already the second such transfer. Previously, the Cluster community had provided more than 1,000 routers for educational institutions in the Lviv region.

With these routers, every school in Lviv will have an uninterrupted access to the internet. Since classes in all schools in the city today take place offline, the need to communicate with children during air strikes or blackouts increases.

“Parents should be in constant contact, first of all, with their children’s teachers. The uninterrupted internet access will give them peace of mind. They will be able to focus on work, develop the economy and contribute to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are glad to be able to help, and that the member companies are joining the initiative,” says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of the Lviv IT Cluster.

One of the biggest benefactors of this stage of the Shelter Link project became EPAM. The total cost of the Shelter Link project reaches more than UAH 2,000,000.

“We joined this project because we understand how important it is to have access to communication with children and teachers during times of anxiety. I hope that over time there will be fewer air raid sirens and these access points will perform a different function,” adds Oleksandr Tesler, administrative director of ERAM Ukraine.

“Earlier, we made a fundamental decision: children should go to school and study. We have equipped schools with shelters, heaters and stocks of everything necessary. But the issue of communication is critically important. I can only express my sincere thanks on behalf of the city to the Lviv IT Cluster and EPAM for these fantastic routers,” says Andriy Sadovyi, Lviv City Mayor.

In order to get a router, schools need to contact the Department of Education of the Lviv City Council. Shelter Link is one of the Victory Projects launched by the Lviv IT Cluster at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Its goal is to support the tech industry, the Armed Forces, thus, bringing the victory of Ukraine closer.
