After its de-occupation, the Memorandum on the Restoration and Development of Entrepreneurship on the Crimean Peninsula envisages the creation of one of the Eastern European technology centers on the peninsula, infrastructure development, return of investments, tourists, and freedom of speech and action. Lviv IT Cluster, the largest industry association of tech companies in Ukraine, is joining efforts to contribute to Crimea’s development after its deoccupation.
Years of Russian occupation have transformed Crimea into a military foothold, causing severe damage to the peninsula’s social, cultural, and economic aspects. The Lviv IT Cluster community firmly believes in the eventual return of Crimea to Ukraine and is therefore strongly committed to the objectives outlined in the Memorandum.
“During our over ten years of activity, we have cultivated a robust technology hub in Lviv. Our efforts encompass the transformation of technical education, industry research, specialized events, and conferences that showcase the Ukrainian tech industry to the world. This represents just a fraction of our experience. We stand ready to apply this expertise in Crimea after its de-occupation, aiming to establish a formidable technology cluster on the peninsula,” says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.
The Lviv IT Cluster community comprises over 270 tech companies of diverse sizes and specialties. Leveraging the expertise and vision of its members, Crimea’s future can be significantly improved. The Russian occupation had isolated the peninsula from global economic and technological advancements. Notably, several Lviv IT Cluster member companies, including SoftServe, EPAM, Genesis, Sigma Software, SQUAD, Luxoft, and others, have joined the Memorandum to contribute to this effort.
“These commitments reflect a genuine willingness to take concrete actions that, without exaggeration, can initiate a new chapter in Crimea’s history. The tech industry, known for its adaptability and resilience, plays a vital role in Ukraine’s post-war recovery and has the potential to serve as a similar cornerstone in the reintegration of Crimea,” adds Sviatoslav Kavetskyi, Supervisory Board Chariman of Lviv IT Cluster.
The Lviv IT Cluster expresses gratitude to its member companies for their support of the Memorandum on the restoration of Crimea. The Cluster also calls upon other companies to join these initiatives, as they contribute to bringing us closer to the victory and de-occupation of Crimea.
