At the IT Arena 2022 Opening Ceremony, Lviv IT Cluster together with JustAnswer supported the initiative of the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation and donated UAH 2,000,000 to the Boryviter school, which trains the military.
In 2022, IT Arena became one of the largest gatherings of tech industry leaders, experts, and all those dedicated to shaping Ukraine’s digital future. The event aims to show the strength and resilience of Ukraine’s tech industry. To emphasize the IT sphere unity and willingness to go beyond being the country’s economic backbone in these tough times, Lviv IT Cluster and JustAnswer joined the initiative to support the Boryviter school, which has already provided military training to over 1,000 soldiers in the following areas:
- Military Topography Basics;
- Military Radio Communication Basics;
- Management of UAVs and Aerial Reconnaissance;
- Leadership Essentials for Sergeants and Officers.
Boriviter continues training soldiers who will go to the frontline soon and needs support. Therefore, Lviv IT Cluster and JustAnswer supported the initiative of the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation and donated ₴2,000,000. This step became part of large fundraising, which aims to collect ₴8,000,000 to train thousands of military in different directions including drone pilots.
“JustAnswer and the Arizae Foundation have donated many drones to Ukraine. Just like the US giving Ukraine HIMARS, these tools are much more effective when combined with high-quality teaching. Sometimes a single observation can save hundreds of lives, and proper training will increase the effectiveness of these drones. We hope our donation to Boryviter School will enable the Ukrainian forces to recon enemy positions better and save many lives,” adds Andy Kurtzig, CEO at JustAnswer.
“From the first day of the full-scale invasion, the community of Lviv IT Cluster implements a series of Victory projects, to help internally displaced persons, support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, strengthen the Air Force of Ukraine and improve the region’s security. Each of these projects and the active involvement of companies in their implementation bring Ukraine’s victory closer. I am convinced that such a significant donation will encourage others to support our military training,” says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of the Lviv IT Cluster.
The founder of the Fund, Serhiy Prytula, said that at first, his team bought only equipment. But now, the organization is actively working on education and training. After all, equipment in the hands of trained people becomes more efficient, works longer, and saves more lives.
“In such a way people’s donations work more effectively. We provide training in various spheres: from piloting drones and working with EW devices, to tactical medicines and military communications. A donation of ₴2 million from the Lviv IT Cluster will help us implement this project and train as much military personnel as possible. We thank the Lviv IT community for supporting the initiative. We are invincible when united!” commented the founder of the Foundation, Serhiy Prytula.
