Over 22.5 Million UAH for Victory Projects: Lviv IT Cluster Summarizes the Initiative’s Results for 2024

For the third consecutive year, Lviv IT Cluster has been actively supporting Ukraine’s Defense Forces through the Victory Projects initiative. This series of projects aims to strengthen the Ukrainian army’s technological capabilities, improve conditions for our soldiers, and protect critical and civilian infrastructure from enemy attacks.

Thanks to regular donations from the association’s member companies, the Cluster allocated over 22.5 million UAH in 2024 to support combat units, assist residents of frontline cities, and restore damaged housing.

SKY: Strengthening the Air Defense Forces

From the first day of the war, Lviv IT Cluster has been committed to helping protect Ukraine’s skies from enemy missiles and drones. Through the SKY project, we modernized the technical equipment of the Air Command West, which is responsible for securing the skies over eight regions of Western Ukraine, from Rivne to Zakarpattia.

In 2024, the Cluster provided the military with T-Bone V4 ground stations, quadcopters, FPV goggles, tablets, drone controllers, charging stations, radios, laptops, monitors, printers, projectors, and other communication and network equipment. This new technology enables the rapid detection of enemy positions, minimizing risks for soldiers, and ensures seamless communication even in the most challenging conditions.

This assistance has already delivered tangible results: the effectiveness of the air defense forces has increased by 40%.

Shahedbusters: Vehicles for Air Defense Units

Lviv IT Cluster launched the Shahedbusters project to protect Lviv’s critical infrastructure from enemy drone attacks. As part of this initiative, Air Command West received five pickup trucks. This is the second batch of vehicles for mobile fire groups that neutralize Russian drones. Each vehicle is equipped with an automatic turret and a machine gun, allowing fire on aerial targets without direct human involvement.

In addition to the pickups, the military also received essential equipment, including thermal imagers, power banks, tablets, laser pointers, floodlights, portable charging stations, and binoculars.

Guardian: Protecting Ukrainian Borders

In May 2023, Lviv IT Cluster launched the Guardian project. This initiative aims to improve the preparedness and effectiveness of border guards while enhancing their service conditions. Thanks to the project, the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service received modern equipment.

Border guards were supplied with KVERTUS AD KRAKEN E systems, which create 360° radio interference to effectively counter enemy drones. These systems are equipped with a special directional antenna block for enhanced protection in targeted directions. In just one week, a single device can neutralize nearly 50 enemy kamikaze drones.

This year, Lviv IT Cluster also supported the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment units. The military received new equipment, enabling the creation of an additional control center and the digitization of border control processes, not only in the West but also in the North. Thanks to modern surveillance systems, border guards can monitor the situation up to 3 kilometers away at any time of day.

Additionally, the units are regularly rotated to the hottest frontlines. To ensure uninterrupted and secure communication in field conditions, the Cluster provided Starlink terminals, generators, batteries for radios, vehicle heaters, FPV drones, VR goggles, and other essential equipment.

The Guardian project also supported the Operational Investigation Directorate in Kramatorsk and the 11th Border Guard Detachment serving on the Vovchansk front. With advanced equipment, such as electronic warfare (EW) systems, these units can effectively neutralize threats from enemy drones.

Nezlamni Online: Stable Connectivity for Residents of the Kherson Region

In March 2024, Lviv IT Cluster, together with partners, installed 12 autonomous towers equipped with Starlink terminals in the Kherson region. These towers were strategically placed near medical facilities to ensure reliable connectivity for doctors and local residents, even during power outages.

Each tower is equipped with autonomous generators and lighting, while the Starlink satellite internet terminals provide stable connections during critical situations, such as complete blackouts.

The Nezlamni Online project aims to provide residents of Ukrainian cities with backup internet connectivity.

Innovations for Ukrainian Reconnaissance Forces

This year, Lviv IT Cluster procured significant equipment to enhance the reconnaissance capabilities of combat units.

The Inquisition drone systems battalion of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, named after Yakiv Handziuk, received support, including EcoFlow portable power stations, Mavic drone batteries, and Starlink satellite communication systems. This equipment will enable high-quality monitoring of enemy positions.

Lviv IT Cluster also delivered 10 Starlink terminals to support the artillery reconnaissance brigade, which participated in all de-occupation operations across Ukraine, including in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions. The Starlink systems provide stable and secure communication, essential for quick coordination and fire adjustment.

Restoring Destroyed Housing: Taking a House Under Protection

Lviv IT Cluster, together with its member companies and partners Kormotech and Enzym Group, took responsibility for restoring a residential building at 46 Konovaltsia Street. The building was heavily damaged during a combined missile and drone attack on Lviv on September 4. The project involves emergency repairs and restoration work to ensure that families who lost their homes can return as soon as possible.

The total budget for the project is 9.5 million UAH. The Lviv IT Cluster fund allocated 1 million UAH, while member tech companies contributed 3.5 million UAH. Kormotech and Enzym Group provided 3 million and 2 million UAH, respectively.

Optimizing Medical Care: New Technology for Doctors

The Lviv IT Cluster team provided over 60 phones and 13 tablets to the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv. This equipment was crucial for implementing the innovative emergency call and alert system, knopka.

With just the press of a button, patients can instantly call on-duty doctors to emergency rooms. Using a mobile app, doctors can also arrange expert consultations when a patient arrives in critical condition.

Just one month after the initiative was launched, the average waiting time for medical assistance at First TMA hospitals dropped to 2 minutes and 11 seconds. Doctors now provide rapid care to over 200 patients in critical and urgent conditions daily.

The Victory Projects initiative was made possible thanks to the regular contributions from Lviv IT Cluster’s member companies.

“We are deeply grateful to every company that did not stand aside this year and responded swiftly to the needs of our military. In modern warfare, technical equipment is a critical component that saves defenders’ lives. It is a great honor for us to support Ukraine’s Defense Forces” emphasized Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, member companies of Lviv IT Cluster have contributed 142,700,000 UAH to Victory Projects, equivalent to USD 4,088,825.
