June 10, 2020 – SoftServe, a leading digital authority and consulting company, has partnered with Lviv Polytechnic National University to open the first science park in the region. Among the founders: SoftServe, Lviv Polytechnic National University, a number of private companies, the school of startups “Tech StartUp School”.
SID City (Science, Innovation, Development) is the largest park among other science parks in Ukraine with a total area of 27 thousand m2. The science park consists of three complexes: a production site on Horodotska Street; complex specializing in IT development on Akademika Kolessa Street and creative space on Knyazya Romana Street. The science park also has about 7.5 hectares of land on which new infrastructure facilities are planned to be built in the future.
“Our main idea is to develop innovations by creating a scientific environment. It is traditionally believed that the science park is a combination of business and science. We want to create a full cycle process beginning with science and ending with logistics”, said Nazar Podolchak, SID City Director.
The park’s main goal is to promote scientific, technical and innovative activities, as well as to commercialize research results. The priority areas of the park are the latest technologies, information technologies, telecommunications etc.
SoftServe has strong connections with the scientific community: the company has an R & D department with more than 30 associates which is rapidly growing. This department works at the intersection of science and technology fields, producing innovative solutions and products. In addition, SoftServe has more than 50 professionals with PhD in artificial intelligence, mathematical modeling, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology, bioinformatics, economics, medicine, etc. Such experts are powerful drivers in the company’s innovation culture. In addition, SoftServe has a number of partnerships with other research and technology companies, as well as universities in Europe and the United States of America.
