On September 24, in Lviv, Faculty of Applied Sciences UCU and a leading digital authority SoftServe have signed a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership.
The Parties made a commitment to cooperate in Faculty scientific fields, methodological educational proposals, experience exchange and scientific breakthroughs, in particular:
- SoftServe will provide significant financial support for Faculty development.
- SoftServe will become a sponsor of numerous research projects per year. For this purpose, the UCU-SoftServe Research Group will be created within the Faculty’s Machine Learning Lab. The Group will involve faculty, students, staff and SoftServe R&D engineers in order to collaborate on research projects.
- SoftServe will launch a new Deep Reinforcement Learning course at the Faculty of Applied Sciences UCU. SoftServe top experts in research and development will share the latest trends on the AI and machine learning discipline while developing and mentoring the course

We have been systematically collaborating on numerous initiatives since then. Many students from our faculty have continued their professional development as SoftServe employees, and the company’s experts are frequent lecturers on our programs,” mentioned Yaroslav Prytula, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of UCU. “ I am extremely pleased that our cooperation is large-scale growth-oriented. I am sure it will provide more opportunities for our students and faculty to learn, develop and build careers.”

The Strategic Partnership Memorandum shall be enacted on the day when it is signed. It will be valid until Sept. 30, 2021. Every July, the faculty and the company will hold an annual reporting meeting to discuss the results of the partnership and vision for the coming year.
