Redtag has launched the Run for UNBROKEN charitable initiative. We aim to raise funds for equipment needed in children’s rehabilitation centers in Ukraine. Employees jogged daily and converted their kilometers into donations. For every kilometer jogged, $1 was donated to support UNBROKEN Kids.
Today, thousands of Ukrainian children traumatized by war require rehabilitation. To ensure these children receive the best treatment and recovery within their own country, the UNBROKEN Kids Rehabilitation Center aims to raise UAH 35 million for medical equipment. St. Nicholas Hospital in Lviv will establish the children’s rehabilitation unit. This hospital is a unique facility under the First Medical Association of Lviv, catering to children’s medical needs from birth through adulthood. Over the past year, more than 60,000 children from all over Ukraine have been treated here.
“Sports and corporate volunteering have a remarkable way of connecting people. 36 Redtag employees, representing 30% of our team, joined our sports and social initiative, ‘Run for UNBROKEN.’ Employees ran at various hours and locations, all with one significant goal in mind – to help young Ukrainians persevere and return to a normal life,” comments Nazar Mykytyn, CEO of Redtag.
Over the 5 weeks of the athletic and social initiative, employees ran 2770 km. How did it go? Redtag opens the curtain backstage.
Before starting the initiative, we organized a meeting with an experienced runner. Together with the expert, we figured out how to run without hurting ourselves, answered questions from beginners, and motivated those who had started many times but decided that “running is not for me” and quit.
Training in teams is always a motivation booster. We created groups to increase the excitement and support each other. We also announced the team ranking every week at a general company meeting. We posted the kilometers covered and user-generated content on the company’s social media. This way, new participants could willingly join our initiative.
On the last day of the initiative, we organized a joint final race through the city streets with representatives of the UNBROKEN Charitable Foundation and the Chumaky running community. This race became a symbol of our unity, cooperation, and goodwill.
Supporting the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center and the UNBROKEN Kids project, in particular, is the main focus of Redtag’s corporate social responsibility. Employees aim to help UNBROKEN Ukrainians – military and civilians, children and adults who have lost limbs – return to fulfilling life.
