Students’ Talent Expo: Connecting Tech Companies with Talented Students

On May 16th, the Lviv IT Cluster will host the Students’ Talent Expo. This unique offline event will bring representatives from leading tech companies and students to one location for knowledge exchange and opportunities.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, higher education institutions produce 25,000 bachelor’s degree graduates in technical specialties annually. Nearly half of them do not pursue careers in their field. Meanwhile, according to IT Research Ukraine, 56% of tech companies hire specialists at the junior level, and 31% hire candidates without commercial experience (trainees).

Lviv IT Cluster has collaborated with tech companies for over eight years to update bachelor’s programs in Lviv universities. Tech specialists from member companies are involved in mentoring, teaching, and curating student projects. Therefore, students have the opportunity to acquire not only theoretical but also practical knowledge.

The Students’ Talent Expo will serve as the platform for the logical progression of the educational projects.. The event’s goal is to make it easier for talented students to find their first job and for companies to strengthen their teams with top-notch professionals.

The event will bring together in one location:

  • More than 2,000 students from tech specialties, ranging from developers and cybersecurity specialists to sales and HR professionals
  • Six leading universities: Ivan Franko National University of Lviv , Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv National Academy of Arts, Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv State University of Life Safety, and IT STEP. 
  • Over 30 tech companies ready to hire young talent.

Participants can expect panel discussions and engaging activities like speed networking and mock interviews. Recruiters and HR specialists will share tips on preparing for interviews and impress employers. Industry speakers will also share insights on starting a successful career in tech, even in challenging times. Among them are:
