Surprise.com was born out of a project at the Stanford Design School, looking at the Rewards and Recognition market.
Companies, just in America alone, spend over 110 billion dollars annually to make their employees feel appreciated and engaged. And why wouldn’t they? Everyone wants a happy and productive workforce. However, these investments have historically been a massive failure, with 70% of workers still feeling unappreciated, 80% not fully engaged, and 90% dissatisfied with their current rewards programs. This leaves companies with the worst of both worlds: they still need to shoulder the burden of disengaged employees and turnover, and they have all these costly programs throwing good money after bad.
Surprise.com is the solution that leverages the latest technology to rethink the legacy people management strategies and adapt them to the modern workplace. The company developed an Employee Experience platform leveraging two major tools: Experiences and Variability.
