Lviv IT Cluster launches IT Research 6.0 – the sixth analytical research of the IT industry. This year the research will be even more extensive, covering two cities and will be carried out in cooperation with the Ivano-Frankivsk IT Cluster. The clusters will collaborate aimed for deeper and broader IT industry research in two cities of western Ukraine – Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Every year, Lviv IT Cluster conducts a unique study – IT Research, which traces the trends of Lviv IT market, changes of the industry and its impact on the city’s economy. In the current circumstances, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the IT industry has been added to all previous spheres of the research. The report will contain information on the effectiveness of the remote work of IT specialists, the impact of quarantine on work conditions, attitude to vaccination, etc. Moreover, this year’s IT Research will explore how human capital flows into the city, the impact of higher education, and so on.
“The pandemic made us unite and encounter difficulties that were challenging not only for our industry but for the society as a whole. The remote work dissolves boundaries, allowing you to expand the geography. COVID-19 has led to people’s migration and values changes, creating a new field for research. Therefore, we are glad that Ivano-Frankivsk IT Cluster responded to our offer. IT Research 6.0 is a study that aims to show how to qualitatively cooperate and track changes in the IT industry in two neighboring cities of Ukraine. We are glad to have such a reliable partner,” – commented CEO of Lviv IT Cluster, Stepan Veselovskyi.
The first research of the Ivano-Frankivsk IT industry
The expansion of the research geography aims to cover as many IT specialists as possible and, based on the obtained results, to form better indicators. For the first time, together with Ivano-Frankivsk IT Cluster, the structure analysis of the city’s IT market will be conducted, the profile of the local IT specialists will be formed and the effects caused by COVID-19 will be highlighted. Particularly, this collaboration will allow research and compare data from two cities, highlighting common trends, and the research’s reports will be valuable for member companies both of Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk IT Clusters.
“Research of the IT-market is highly essential in the pandemic times when new opportunities, that are at the same time challenges for the IT-sector, have aroused. We want to dive deeper into the IT environment, in order to feel the movement dynamics, needs and development prospects. This will be the first global research of the region’s IT sector for Ivano-Frankivsk. The results of this research are intended to attract new investments in the industry, strengthen cooperation with related businesses, develop and expand the region’s IT market,” – added Executive Director of Ivano-Frankivsk IT Cluster, Iryna Darvai.
An important component of the research quality is the amount of data, namely the involvement in the survey of as many IT specialists as possible. It is planned that 2000+ specialists and several hundred IT companies will take part in the survey. All data received from respondents are completely confidential, will not be disclosed, and will be used only for analytical purposes.
