UVOGNI: a gamified platform for collecting donations to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The non-governmental organization “Cruel Crew,” established by Taras Dzhul and Volodymyr Zhdan, collaborated with Lviv volunteer Volodymyr Andreev and IT specialists from Indeema Software to develop the gamified platform UVOGNI . The platform aims to generate funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

UVOGNI it’s a gamified web platform where users can engage in real-time destruction of military and infrastructure facilities across Russia by selecting them based on their actual coordinates. Participants have the opportunity to join the action and obliterate one of these virtual targets on the map. To contribute, users select an object on the map, choose a means of destruction corresponding to their donation amount, select a payment method, and simply click “Destroy.” The destruction unfolds with immersive animations and sound effects, enhancing the interactive experience.

The primary objective is to gather UAH 100 million to procure 5,000 FPV drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The entire team operates on a voluntary basis, ensuring that 100% of the funds raised will directly finance the acquisition of these drones.

“Unfortunately, even existing foundations and organizations cannot fully meet the needs for drones, which is becoming critical for our defense capability. That’s why we created the uVoGni: platform to simplify and make the fundraising process emotionally engaging. More drones – more destroyed enemy equipment,” says Volodymyr Andreev, a volunteer from Lviv.

In the first month of its operation, the foundation of the NGO “Сruel Crew” has already handed over two universal radio-controlled complexes worth more than 500 thousand hryvnias and continues to raise funds for drones. The drones will be transferred to the 8th Regiment of the Special Forces, 65th Brigade, 80th Brigade, 1st Da Vinci Wolves Brigade, 79th Brigade, 8th Brigade, and at the request of other military formations.

The central concept behind the UVOGNI project is to inspire Ukrainians (and others) to actively participate in fundraising efforts vital for our defenders. It serves as a poignant reminder of the formidable adversary Ukraine is confronting. Every hryvnia contributed is not just a monetary donation but a tangible support to our military, symbolizing a crucial contribution to this ongoing battle.
