Optimizing Healthcare Assistance: Lviv IT Cluster Procures Equipment for Doctors

On March 18th, as part of the Victory Projects initiative, the Lviv IT Cluster procured over 60 phones and 13 tablets for the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv.

Doctors will receive phones and tablets to implement a project by a Lviv IT Cluster member company – knopka. Special software for the operation of the Ukrainian startup system has already been installed on the equipment. The value of the assistance provided is over 600 thousand UAH.

“Our cooperation with the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv is quite significant. Within the Unbroken project, Mental Health Centers for adults and children are already operating, created with the support of our community. Today, we have provided all hospital associations with equipment to operate the emergency call system for doctors. We have a good tradition of supporting innovative projects with our partners from the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv, and we will continue to do so,” says Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster.

knopka is an innovative call and notification system for hospitals. Through the mobile app, the system allows for instant calling of on-duty doctors to emergency departments and convening interdisciplinary case discussions when a patient arrives at the hospital in critical condition.

Hospitals are obligated to assist patients in critical condition within five minutes. Statistical evidence has confirmed that since the implementation of our system in hospitals already connected to it, doctors have consistently managed to provide assistance within this timeframe. With the simple press of a button, our solution notifies individual on-duty doctors and groups when it is necessary to assemble a team instantly. Additionally, our system monitors the timely arrival of doctors at the emergency department, explains Ivan Osadchyi, CEO of knopka.

We aim to implement new software across all our healthcare institutions, starting with the two largest adult hospitals and one children’s hospital. Subsequently, we plan to expand the project to encompass all our departments, creating a unified network. Our goal is to maximize the speed of providing medical assistance to our patients,” adds Oleh Samchuk, CEO of the First Territorial Medical Association.

In a week, the solution will be implemented in 4 medical institutions in Lviv: the hospitals of St. Panteleimon, St. Nicholas, St. Luke, and St. Anna.

One of the priority directions of the city’s digitalization is the development of smart, innovative services across various spheres of life, including healthcare. Given that the First Territorial Medical Association encompasses multiple institutions, we have selected it for the pilot project of implementing the knopka startup,” says Olena Hunko, Head of the IT Department of Lviv City Council.

The Victory Projects initiative consists of a series of projects initiated by the Lviv IT Cluster in response to the full-scale invasion in March 2022. They aim to support business, military, critical, and civil infrastructure and strengthen regional security.
